Energy in Motion: Youth-Led Art, Apparel & Dialogue

With support from the CANSTOREnergy Network, SSC completed a community energy research initiative that employed CAFN Citizens Douglas McKinnon and Graham MacDonald to assess renewable energy opportunities within CAFN Traditional Territory in 2025-26. The resulting pre-feasibility work explored wind energy, geothermal and biomass heating, energy storage, and other emerging technologies.

As part of that project, they commissioned Justin Johnson to develop a logo/symbol to represent their work and conversations about Energy. A big thank you to Justin Johnson for his work on designing a logo for energy work. Learn more about the logo through this video that Perxx owned by Jesse McCuaig produced with Justin.

Building on this work, SSC secured funding for a second phase of the project. In 2026–27, the initiative will be led through the Ts’u Ghāy Collective and Sewing Studio, alongside Douglas and Graham, where the Collective will use art, apparel, and creative entrepreneurship to integrate the salmon logo into products that can support community dialogues on energy.
