THE WORK
Help build a Bike Skills Park in Haines Junction.
You'll work on the trails at the new Bike Skills Park in Dakwäkäda (Haines Junction). The project is led by Pedal Junction Yukon — a local society building active transportation and bicycle programs for all ages in and around Dakwäkäda — and supported by Sha Shäw Corporation.
Construction began in 2025 with the beginner skills trails and parking lot. This season the crew is building a pump track, a picnic area, a learn-to-bike trail, a short singletrack, and other site amenities.
You'll work directly with Pedal Junction's contractor, Chris Ritchie, and other subcontractors. Day to day, the work includes building trails (raking, shovelling, hauling soil), landscaping, and working around equipment. It's an excellent way to learn trail building from people who do it professionally.
Learn more about Pedal Junction and the Bike Skills Park project at pedaljunction.org or follow @PedalJunctionYukon on Facebook.
